Admittedly, I am a big fan of AI and found it to be incredibly helpful in my day-to-day tasks. However, many organizations I work with (and even RSM!) are looking for ways to prevent third party AI “bots” from capturing the information in their Teams meetings. For instance, following a recent user group meeting I participated in, I received the following email:
I didn’t ask for this, nor did I want to give away my email address to this site. So, how do we prevent them in our tenants? Let’s look at it together with today’s #TechTipTuesday.
There are three primary ways I’d recommend preventing bots from joining Teams meetings.
1. Block Third Party Bot domains through External Access in TAC
2. Require CAPTCHA-based human verification for anonymous users (Teams Meeting Policy, currently in Preview)
3. Consider updating your individual Teams meeting policy to automatically admit only those who were invited.
Of course, for those smaller meetings, we can continue to manually #BootTheBots.
